Horse transport is provided in a new, 2006 custom 3 Horse Slant Load trailer which is pulled by a 2006 Chevy 2500HD pickup.  The trailer slants are removeable in the event a larger area is needed.  Wood shavings are provided to offer a more comfortable ride for your horse. It is not uncommon for us to be able to accommodate our client's needs more quickly than larger organizations who try to fill their trailer over a nation wide trip and begin scheduling trips to your area perhaps several months out.  Not only may this delay you in receiving your horse, but in some instances, this could mean additional time, miles and stress for your horse before reaching it's final destination.  Figbar Farms is a Direct Route service provider. Because we do not book trips months in advance, we can typically respond to a trip request on rather short notice.  As such, we typically fill our trailer with the horses of a single client.  This allows for the most direct route for your horses.  It also means that there is less risk of injury between slants via kicking between horses that do not know one another.  Germ transfer between farms is also reduced as is the potential risk of illness due to this exposure and a reduced immune system due to the stress of the trip itself.  We disinfect our trailer between each trip to further reduce the potential risks of germ transfer. We may not always be the least expensive way for your horse to travel, but one thing is for certain:  We CARE about your horse and treat him or her as if he were our own.  Figbar Farms makes the care and well being of the animals in our care is of the utmost priority.
