We are currently getting Fandango! exposed to a few does and look forward to seeing what he will produce.  Based on what we currently see, we suspect that Fandango will be a later maturing animal.

We are thrilled to express how happy we are with Fandango and the handsome buck he has become!

Fandango's growth pattern seems to have been a 'coming into one's self' around the age of 8 months when all the pieces of his growth came together and WOW!  What a FINE animal we now see!

We are looking forward to seeing what Fandango is going to produce on Machismo daughters!!!  We think it will be a phenominal blend.

Keep your eyes on Fandango-he IS the new and upcoming buck that we hope will add to our growing list of show winning show wethers!

May 15, 2010 - Fandango! Update

The first Fandango kids are on the ground.  We have seen a consistency in the kid crop out of Fandango! who is putting VERY SHOWY and VERY FLASHY kids with lots of flare on the ground.

Fandango!'s kids are all long of leg, long bodied, long necked.  These kids are tracking very wide in the rear and have a gorgous stance.  They move with lots of flare as well.  Real eye catching kids in overall appearance and how they move.  Fandango's kids are also gaining added rib shape and ALL of his kids are getting that CLEAN front end that juts up straight out of the bottom of the chest floor and up out of the shoulders!

Fandango was bred to a limited number of does last year.  Fandango does best when bred to a heavily muscled doe-the uglier and the thicker the better.  He'll add 'pretty' to whatever you have-there is no doubt about that.

As a result of how genectics typically represent themselves phenotypically - Fandango's wethers tend to run thicker bodied than his doe kids.

We are retaining several of Fandango's doe kids to observe growth patterns-Fandango peaked in his own growth and 'look' at age 8 months.  We are watching to see if this patterns holds true in his kids and to see how much muscle the doe kids gain as they mature.  Fandango's doe kids will be bred back to a buck with P-O-W-E-R to add muscle back into their very showy frame.  We believe that cross will yield some VERY NICE results in showy kids with increased muscle mass.

Our best show wethers this year were sired by Fandango.

June 27, 2010 - Fandango! Update

It is with a very heavy heart that we announce that we are listing Fandango 'for sale'.

Fandango has produced some VERY showy and FLASHY kids for us this year.  And though Fandango has been very consistent in what he is bringing to the table in the way of kids......  it would appear our doe herd is not yet consistent enough itself to fully utilize ALL the fabulous things this buck gives to his offspring.

The best show wethers this year came out of Fandango.  These wethers came out of our most heavily muscled does.  We feel that we need to add a tad bit more power into our does before we can fully utilize all the very wonderful thigns Fandango brings to his kids and have decided to let him move on to a herd better able to appreciate his features rather than feeding Fandango the 2-3 years we think it will take us to breed in the kind of power we feel we need in our does.

We will be keeping most of the Fandngo doe kids produced this year and breeding Fandango back to the best crosses we made this year as evidenced by the resultant kids.  In addition, we are also going to breed Fandango to the top 6 does we produced this year out of Machismo and have retained as replacement does for the herd.  We fully expect the results of these breedings to make us regret the fact that we have posted Fandango 'for sale'.

Herd downsizing and the need for more time to produce more musclar does, so that we may fully utilize what Fandango brings to the production table, are the ONLY reasons this buck is for sale.  We hope to capture the best of his essence in the breedings currently taking place here before the buck leaves.

This buck WILL produce WINNERS!

Inquiries into future kids sired by Fandango are welcome.
