This Texas, wether maker style
buck can certainly produce some NICE kids!!!
Spot has
been used on a few select does from two
different herds. We would say this buck has been
best suited, in our herds, for making some nice doe kids!
The kids out of this
buck are wide across the top, have muscle and Spot seems to
also ad some hint of the possibility of color with capes and shoulder
patches to some of his kids. He's even produced a paint or
two. The kids out of this buck are definitely wether maker
type animals with jerk fronted front ends, long necks, chest floor
width and good bone.
Spot is known to clean up
the front end of the most coarse does and we would say Spot's front end
is his biggest asset. He'll clean it up and slap it on any
doe to which he is bred! Spot throws an amazing level topline
through his back end, too.
Spots kids get
better with age and really start coming into themselves around age 3
months. They continue to improve from that point on and seem to
come into themselves completely at 8-9 months of age.
At present (7/13/2010), we are using Spot on some of our best does in
anticipation of some 'keep back does'. Due to downsizing of the
herd and the number of bucks at Figbar Farms, we are putting Spot on
the 'for sale' list with the expectation of continuing his genetic
influence in this herd through the does he is currently out in the
pasture producing.
Bucks like this don't come around often-much less at this price. If you like making show wethers..... this buck is one
to consider!
